That's intermediate, not beginner advice. If there's a job shortage turn an enslaved species to servants, if there's a food shortage turn one of your enslaved species into livestock. Make up a BS claim you're not going to take during war just to continue raiding. Don't waste your time with any army bonuses, it's better to just build more armies which are only 100 minerals each, and if you're just raiding don't bother with armies at all. Get nihilistic aquisition and you raid 1 capital planet and are ahead for the foreseeable future. I don't find government types being important, other than the civics that come with them. Originally posted by Kang Of Canada:Always choose xenophobia ethic and enslave xeno species (consumer goods upkeep stays low). There are also events that give influence. Declaring a foriegn power as a rival also gives you some influence. They'll want different thing and whatnot, and they give a bit of influence. But everyones got their styles.Īs for Influence, at some point you have factions that pop up in your empire. Though when it comes to federations, making people into vassals rather than convincing them to join you peacefully, is better. The higher the trust, the more willing they will be to do things, like commercial pacts(Important for regular empires, but even more so for Megacorps), research agreements, defensive pacts, and finally, federations. If there is someone that doesn't quite like me, then if I believe they won't be in any wars anytime soon, I guarantee their independence, which increases their opinion of me, and their trust of me. The game is fun alone, but it gets like 3x more fun with people.ĭiplomacy isn't too bad, it depends entirely on your neighbors, early game. I use it sometimes, if I never get the research I want.īut ye. You could dig around enough of them for the research to unlock that way. If your enemies have better weapons, armour and shields, defeating them in battle will give you access to those resources, as long as you've got a manned science vessel nearby to dig through the salvage. Focus on a military economy, and use your wars to get better research from your enemies. Without a strong economy, do not expect to have a strong navy. It totally determines whether or not you will have a strong military and research department. Personally, I find that a strong economy is the way to go. More territory, and more jobs pumping out resources. Find a species that thrive in those climates, and use them to colonise those worlds. Say your own people favor continental planets, but all you've got in your territory are arctic or arid places.
#Stellaris apocalypse capture starbase plus
Plus you'll have a diverse empire that will allow you to inhabit more than just one or three kinds of worlds. No slaves and whatnot makes things a little easier on you, cause there won't be slave revolts, or rebellions.
Others like that bit of challenge, and even when not too ready, fight wars.ĭepends entirely on your playstyle, and what you want to do.Īs for a recommended start? Personally, I'd go democratic. Some people like to turtle, locking down their borders and not risking any wars until they believe they are far stronger than their enemies. (Btw the only DLC I have purchased are Apocalypse and Utopia if that makes any difference, I plan to get the rest later.)Īs Ronstadt said, it's best to play it yourself and find your own sort of style. What are all the different ways I can build my influence? I find that at a certain point I kinda start running low and I'm having trouble getting it back up again.Īnyways gotta run to work. Yeah its nice being able to have a positive relationship with another species but the influence cost really turns me off of it. for someone just getting into the game? I've only just toyed with autocracy and dictatorship.Īlso not entirely sure when I should start building up my fleet.ĭiplomacy doesn't really seem like its worth it early game unless I'm doing something wrong.
Is there anything I can do to increase population growth other than edicts and decisions?Īre there any reccomended starting governments, ethics, etc. I feel like I'm either trying to expand too quickly or expanding too slowly and paranoid that I'm falling behind other species I haven't discovered yet. Recently picked this game up and I've already restarted a couple times.
